Marcellus Broomes became clinical director at Freedom House in 2018 for the Intensive Outpatient Program and the Outpatient program at the Clinton, NJ location. He is responsible for the operations at the Clinton Outpatient Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program. Marcellus also works at the Halfway House located in Glen Gardner, NJ a few days a week.

He brings years of mental health and substance abuse experience. Prior to Freedom House, Marcellus worked at Daytop Residential Program for adolescents with substance use disorders. He counseled adolescent males and facilitated groups.

He also worked at Bridgeway Rehabilitation Center as a Co-Occurring specialist with the PACT team. His duties were to counsel clients with substance use disorders, provide transportation, medication delivery, and supportive services.

Marcellus also worked several years at East Orange General Hospital. He worked three different positions. He was a clinical case manager for 3.5 years. He worked as a counselor for the partial hospital program for 4 years, and 2 years as an outpatient counselor.

Marcellus also works part time counseling children and adolescents aged 3-18.

He graduated from Capella University with a Master’s degree in 2011, graduated in 2016 with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in military culture and families. He received his license in addictions in 2013 (LCADC), his licensed in Mental Health Counseling in 2016 (LPC), and his National Certified Counselor certificate in 2016 (NCC).

Mr. Broomes is serving as an elder at his church. He is Seventh Day Adventist. He was baptized in 2006.

He is a long time resident of NJ. He was volunteer in 2009 for the Carlton hotel in Newark NJ. He provided food and music for the residents that lived there. He continues to serve his community by giving donations to different agencies and volunteering when possible.

Marcellus currently lives in Phillipsburg, NJ with his wife and 3 children.
