Patrick S., House Manager of Freedom House, graduated from Freedom House on July 9, 1994. He successfully completed treatment for the second time on August 7, 2004. Since then Patrick constantly expresses his gratitude for having the opportunity to reenter treatment and refers to himself as being "Twice Blessed."
He is an active Freedom House alumnus who is committed to restoring hope to residents and their families, and the community at large. His commitment to Freedom House is reflected in all of his affairs. He always expresses the need to "give back", and practices what he preaches as evidenced by his actions. He has volunteered at numerous golf outings over the years. Patrick personally raised $4,000 for a recent furniture drive at Freedom House. He initiated projects at Freedom House to raise money for residents’ activities that brought in over $2,000. Patrick, through his networking within the community, has secured numerous jobs for the men of Freedom House.
Glen King, Patrick’s supervisor at Freedom House says, "I would hate to imagine Freedom House without Patrick Spencer. He works hard and with minimal supervision. He is always advocating for the men of Freedom House, and lives up to the Freedom House Mission."
Patrick is reunited with his family and praises his family for their ongoing support. He says "The relationship I have with my mother and father today is priceless." Patrick was recently reunited with his sister whom he has not seen in over five years. He said, "Had it not been for Freedom House this would not have been possible. Freedom House definitely is doing the work of God, because only God can work these types of miracles."
