The Freedom House Foundation was created to raise funds to help provide innovative treatment programs, family reunification services, and transitional housing to adult men and women who are recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.
To raise the needed funds, the Foundation runs a series of special events throughout the year. In addition, Freedom House Foundation solicits grants from private foundations and large corporations. The Foundation further solicits charitable donations from individuals, as well as large contributions from major benefactors. For more information, visit our How to Give page.
Freedom House 5K Run & Walk is held each spring in May. This event is a fun filled morning held at Spruce Run Recreational Area.
The Freedom House – Larry Grantham Celebrity Golf Outing, held every summer in July, features members of the Super Bowl New York Jets, sports celebrities, and an extraordinary day of golf and dining at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Freedom House Distinguished Citizens Award Banquet is held each fall. A gala event, the evening honors individual(s) with the Distinguished Citizens Award, which recognizes outstanding support and leadership in the fight against alcohol and drug abuse.
As a statewide, non-profit organization, Freedom House depends on donations and our own internal fundraising efforts to keep our long term residential treatment and transitional living programs in operation. Internally, The Freedom House Foundation runs several functions every year. But it is not enough. In 2010, more than 4 men in need were turned away for every one accepted into the program, largely due to lack of beds. Your tax-deductible donation will help us to cut down on that number and help more men get a second chance at living a healthy life.
