  1. How does one get into Freedom House’s drug and alcohol treatment center?
Prospective clients must first contact the Freedom House clinical staff for a pre-interview phone screening. This screening is conducted to determine if they are eligible for the residential treatment program. If eligible, the prospective client will then be scheduled for a face-to-face interview to determine if long term residential treatment is appropriate for his needs.

  2. How long is the waiting list?
Waiting list times vary due to the availability of beds and applicable funding sources. The Freedom House staff makes every effort to process those eligible for residential drug and alcohol treatment as soon as possible.

  3. What is the length of time that I will be in treatment?
Residents entering Freedom House for drug rehab or alcoholism treatment are asked to commit to a 12-month stay. The average stay, however, is anywhere from nine to twelve months.

  4. Can I have a car while in treatment?
Residents are permitted the privilege of having a car only after successfully completing the first phase of the residential treatment program.

  5. Will I be able to work while I am in treatment?
Securing and maintaining gainful employment is an important part of Freedom House’s drug-alcohol treatment program. Therefore, all residents are required to be employed fulltime while staying at Freedom House.

  6. Will I have my own bedroom?
Not at first. Upon acceptance into the program, all residents initially share rooms with other residents. This helps to orientate the person to the program, and improve social interaction. After successfully completing 90 days of residential drug and alcohol treatment, a person may earn the privilege of a single occupant room.

  7. Is there a dress code at Freedom House?
Yes. Because proper dress and respect for oneself is an important aspect of recovery, we require all of our residents to dress for “recovery success.”

  8. Can I have a cellular phone while in treatment?
No. While we realize that cell phones are an integral part of today’s society, to a person in a residential treatment program, they often become a portal to outside temptations. Therefore, no resident is permitted to possess or purchase a cellular phone while at Freedom House.

  9. When will I be able to have visitors?
Residents may begin receiving visitors after successfully completing orientation. All visitors to Freedom House; however, are required to participate in the family education program before they will be allowed to visit.

  10. Does Freedom House have a detoxification unit?
No. If required, detoxification must be completed by professionals in a facility that specializes in that type of treatment, such as a hospital, prior to admittance to our residential drug and alcohol treatment program.

  11. Does Freedom House offer counseling?
Freedom House offers individual counseling, group counseling, and educational sessions throughout all phases of the program.

  12. Does Freedom House accept people on medications?
Freedom House does not accept residents that are on mood stabilizers or mood altering medications. All others medications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

  13. What is the cost of Treatment?
Currently, the cost for our long term residential treatment and transitional living programs is $94.60 per day. Residents are required to pay for their treatments through applicable insurance coverage or other means.
